North Texas Restaurants Struggling With Food Shortages – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – North Texas suffers from food and product shortages.
Some restaurants with limited food try to keep customers happy.

“Everyday life is a struggle right now! A lot is happening here at the moment. Every day is a different challenge, ”said Shane Spillers, co-owner of Eno’s Pizza Tavern.
He is referring to the food and supply shortages his restaurant has been suffering from for the past 15 months.
The co-owner says things have gotten particularly bad since the state reopened 100% in May.

The Texas Restaurant Association says the state is also strapped for things like milk, cooking oil, and chicken.
“There was a breeding problem. Last quarter demand increased 22% and supply increased 8%, ”said the Texas Restaurant Association. “Apart from chicken, everything else has to do with the entire supply chain and logistics of the transport.”
While there is no specific solution to help restaurants make up for product shortages, food companies are encouraged to expand their menus as needed.

“If you are a restaurant that has its entire restaurant based on chicken wings, chances are you are now a chicken wing and thigh restaurant,” said the Texas Restaurant Association.
