Pacific Northwest hardwood lumber firm moving HQ to Frisco

A Pacific Northwest company moves its headquarters from Tacoma, Washington, to Frisco’s Hall Park.

Northwest Hardwoods CEO Nathan Jeppson said the relocation of the company’s headquarters will position it better to serve customers around the world. Northwest Hardwoods is the largest producer of North American hardwood.

“This is an important step for our company as we position ourselves for long-term growth and increasingly focus on delivering a first-class customer experience,” Jeppson said in a statement.

Northwest Hardwoods operates 19 North American plants that supply wood products to more than 2,000 customers in 60 countries.

The move of headquarters to Texas has no impact on Northwest Hardwood’s manufacturing operations and plans to have offices in Tacoma and Ohio.

Northwest Hardwoods leases 23,000 square feet of office space on 2600 Network Boulevard in Hall Park. The building is located west of the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco.

The new office is due to open at the beginning of next year, according to the planning documents submitted to the state. It is planned to accommodate around 100 workers in the next few years, said a company spokesman.

Northwest Hardwoods started a sawmill in Oregon in 1967. It grew significantly in 2015 through the purchase of Ohio’s Industrial Timber and Lumber Co., which operates sawmills and kiln plants, to create a nationwide operation.

In 2014 it was bought by the private equity firm Littlejohn & Co. Northwest Hardwoods wood is used in the manufacture of kitchen cabinets, furniture, moldings, milling, RV interiors, railroad ties and pallets.

“We are delighted to have Northwest Hardwoods at Frisco as the market leader in [its] Industry, “said Jason Ford, president of Frisco Economic Development Corp., in a statement. “Frisco remains one of the top destinations in the country for corporate office relocations outside of the state because of Frisco’s business-friendly culture and world-class lifestyle amenities.”

Northwest Hardwoods’ new headquarters will be near where Hall Park developers broke ground on a $ 500 million mixed-use project with high-rise offices, apartments and a hotel.

It is part of a $ 7 billion redevelopment of the 162-acre Hall Park business campus.
