Pernod Ricard USA and Partner Organizations Launch Comprehensive “Safe Night” Program Aimed at Reducing Alcohol Misuse
NEW YORK, Dec 8, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Pernod Ricard United States of America is pleased to announce a comprehensive, community-based pilot program that will be launched today in. started Dallas which aims to create safer nights through a variety of measures, including reducing binge drinking and driving discomfort, and improving safety for women.
the Dallas-based “Good Neighbor Initiative” is intended to be a model for a national “Safe Night” program that can be expanded on the basis of the successes and findings from other US cities Dallas. Darrin goby, Vice President, Government Relations and Traffic Safety at Responsibility.org, said the Safe Night pilot was partly based on the successful Arlington (Va.) Restaurant initiative implemented in collaboration with the founders of Safe Night LLC Jim Mastoras, a retired Arlington County Police Officer, and his partner Molly Mastoras, a licensed professional advisor. “In just a few short years, crime has dropped significantly, restaurants have been working together and recognized by Arlington County as responsible business partners, and most importantly, customers have been safer with this initiative,” said Grondel.

The core elements of the initiative include:
- SAFE NIGHT – Establishing a collaboration between night-time businesses and city departments to make the night in a city safer and livelier.
- EVERY VOICE – Educating nighttime business owners on how to avoid discrimination and exclusion when hiring staff and hosting guests.
- ROAD AMBASSADORS – Mobilize faith leaders and persons of goodwill to resolve potential conflicts within a Dallas Entertainment district.
- COPPER STAR CERTIFICATION – Honoring nighttime businesses that have taken exceptional steps to be safe, welcoming, and respectful of their neighbors.
In addition to reducing alcohol abuse and promoting safety at night, the initiative aims to help improve compliance and regulation and curb human and sex trafficking, White said.
