Pop-up shop brings Black designers to Galleria Dallas
Galleria Dallas is home to a stylish pop-up shop through Sunday, showcasing more than a dozen designers who are BIPOC – blacks, indigenous people, and coloreds. The pop-up features menswear, womenswear, jewelry, beauty, and home decor. And the designers will be on site so visitors can experience the inspiration behind each piece.
The designers include Kendall Miles, Robin Harris, Norman Scales and Salone Monet, whose nude shoes are available in different skin tones.

Dallas designers include Serita Jakes – wife of Bishop TD Jakes and creator of Serita Jakes Home – Sai Sankoh, Dawn Franklin and Daniel Mofor, founder of custom menswear label Don Morphy.
It’s all led by Frenchye Harris, whose group the Black Fashion Movement aims to support black-owned fashion brands. The organization grew out of a social media campaign promoting such brands during Black History Month last year.

“We want the Dallas community to see touch and feel and shop with designers for products that are somewhere between contemporary and designer prices,” Harris said, adding, not specifically for blacks. It’s there for everyone, because luxury goes beyond the race. “
