Popular healthy restaurant Flower Child blossoms in Fort Worth
Fort Worth gets a dose of flower power with the arrival of Flower child, the young, happy, hippie-like restaurant from Arizona-based Fox Restaurant Concepts.
According to a press release, the over-healthy concept will open its first Fort Worth restaurant in the University Village in early 2022. It will be located at 1616 S. University Dr., # 301, IE of the former McKinley’s Bakery and Cafe. which was felled by the pandemic and unfortunately closed in September 2020.
Flower Child made its debut in the DFW area in 2017 when it opened its first location in Inwood Village, Dallas. Three other locations have since landed in Addison, Dallas’ Preston-Royal and Uptown Dallas, both of which have received a lot of buzz and the occasional long line.
The chain has become a near-iconic phenomenon that encounters long lines wherever it opens. It has food that is considered healthy and good, but there is also something exciting about its free spirited atmosphere with bright colors and a happy atmosphere.
While the menu includes steak, chicken, and salmon, it’s known for having a wider variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options than usual.
Popular dishes are the Mother Earth Bowl, a mix of ancient grains, fire-roasted sweet potatoes with miso jam, portobello mushrooms, fresh avocado, cucumber relish, pistachio pesto, a rocket and sprouts salad, red pepper and miso vinaigrette and hemp seeds .

With construction underway, Flower Child Fort Worth will open in early 2022 and will be the 29th location for the brand and the 10th location in Texas.
Fox Restaurant Concepts was founded by Sam Fox, who opened Wildflower American Cuisine in Tucson in 1998 and has launched dozens of ever-evolving brands, including Blanco Tacos & Tequila, based in Houston and The Henry, based in Dallas.
