Progress on Phase Two of Regent Square, a mixed-use development near Buffalo Bayou Park, is continuing, with the project’s 590-unit apartment building, The Sterling, expected to open for move-in in December.
Preleasing at The Sterling began on Aug. 24, officials said, in time with the opening of a new marketing center where potential residents can see a one-bedroom sample room and a full-scale model of the overall master plan of development.
The floor plans range from studios with sleeping alcoves to two-room units. Amenities include a 30-foot resort swimming pool, covered cabanas and BBQ stations, a south-facing lawn with outdoor games and Adirondak chairs, a main lawn with games, TVs and a dining area, an outdoor lounge with a bar and fireplace, and two Indoor lounges with additional games and bars.
The Sterling also offers multi-purpose lounges, a private dining area, conference rooms, multiple fitness areas, a spa room, and a spa for pets.
Officials with development company GID Development Group also said work is progressing on the retail component of Phase 2, which will include 55,000 square feet of pedestrian-oriented shop fronts, green spaces and a water feature. Confirmed tenants include the Flight Club social dart bar and Underbelly Hospitality. Three restaurants with roof terraces are planned.
Phase 2 is designed by the Boston-based architecture firm CBT together with OJB Landscape Architecture from Houston.
Regent Square is along the Allen Parkway corridor and along West Dallas Street near Dunlavy Street. The new marketing center is located at 1203 Dunlavy St., Houston.
