Quadrangle office construction set to start in late summer
A redevelopment of Uptown Dallas, delayed during the pandemic, is progressing and is slated to begin this summer.
Developer Stream Realty Partners has been working on a major renovation of Uptown’s landmark Quadrangle retail and office center since 2019.
The project includes the construction of a 12-story office tower on Howell Street.
Construction was originally supposed to start last year, but is now to begin this summer.
Stream Realty has just submitted planning permission for the 335,000 square meter office building to the city of Dallas.
“We are preparing for the groundbreaking on or around Labor Day, which will be completed in 2023,” said Stream Realty managing director and partner Ramsey March.
The 4 acre quadrangle development on Howell and Routh Streets includes the construction of 15,000 square feet of retail bungalows for hospitality and restaurant tenants.
Dallas architect Omniplan designed the project called The Quad.
Built in 1966 as a southwestern style building with unique shops and small office space, it has been renovated several times. A refurbishment in the 1980s added an office building and changed the original exterior of most of the buildings.
