Richard Rawlings announces new Gas Monkey restaurant and music venue in Farmers Branch
Reality TV star Richard Rawlings opens a new 40,000 square foot restaurant and venue, Gas Monkey Dallas, on the Farmers Branch on the Mercer Boardwalk. The new concept is due to hit the market next summer.
Just over a mile from the Gas Monkey Garage and Store is the new venue that is currently under construction and has two floors, a rooftop bar, outdoor stage and loads of Gas Monkey merchandise. As for food, expect barbecue, Tex-Mex, and burgers.
“It’s going to be more bespoke,” says Rawlings. “We had to adapt our last place to what it was. With this we can learn from what we have and make it bigger, better and worse. “
Gas Monkey Dallas is set to be the first of several locations across the country for this new concept, with a location in Las Vegas already in the works.
“We are an internationally known brand,” says Rawlings. “I’m considering opening 25 or 40 of them. That was the original plan and it was only delayed. We have the ambition to be the next House of Blues, Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe. “
Rawlings ‘announcement comes just weeks after his old bar and music venue Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill – which he is no longer associated with – was renamed Amplified. The Gas Monkey Bar N ‘Grill, founded by Rawlings in 2014, became the subject of litigation between the Fast N’ Loud star and the venue’s managing partner. Gas Monkey Live, the separate music venue for the Gas Monkey Bar N ‘Grill, was permanently closed last year.
“Gas Monkey Dallas is going to be the best thing you’ve seen on Gas Monkey Live,” says Rawlings. “And better than the old Gas Monkey Bar N ‘Grill.”
Gas Monkey Dallas will be located on the Mercer Boardwalk in Farmers Branch.
