Sandra S. Anderson, 75, died in Ennis, Texas on November 9, 2021.

Sandy was born in Dallas, TX on March 29, 1946, to Norma and Henry Grady King III. She graduated from Carrolton High School in 1964, where she attended Texas Tech University and then worked for the Kim Dawson Modeling Agency and Johnson & Johnson. She married Bryce Anderson on July 8, 1966. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Saskatchewan, Canada for a year before moving back to Dallas, TX, where they settled and had two children, John and Amy. Sandy and Bryce moved to Ennis, TX in 1978 to start Ennis Paint Manufacturing, which is where they both found their true home. They became active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Ennis and made lifelong friends in the ward. She served in church meetings and also served as treasurer for over 20 years.

Sandy became a member of the Ennis Garden Club, where she ran the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival for 41 years. Sandy was instrumental in working with other civic leaders to create the Ennis Public Theater, which now proudly resides in downtown Ennis. She is a longtime member of the 20th Century Club, the Ennis Heritage Society, the Delphi Literary Club, the Supper Club and the tour group Turnarounds as well as her special friends group The Footsie’s.

With a loving heart, Sandy has been a longtime supporter and activist of the United Way, A-Cross, and Helping Hands of Ennis. She worked tirelessly to meet the needs of the community.

Sandy’s passions were spending time with family, enhancing the local bluebonnet landscape, welcoming friends and family to her beautiful Sugar Ridge home, and traveling the world with her husband, Bryce, who she was married to for over 55 years . Sandy has been a staunch supporter of Bryce in their business endeavors and building a love-based family. One of Sandy’s greatest strengths was her hospitality and her ability to gracefully welcome everyone into her home. Sandy brought her leadership skills and talents to many aspects of Ennis’s growth. She was so proud of her community and the house she and Bryce had built there. Her commitment to Ennis was undeniable. Sandy loved life, her family, her friends and her savior.

She is survived by her husband, Bryce Anderson; Son John Anderson and wife Nancy and their children Bryce, Zachary, and Ann Hinckley; Daughter Amy Zicarelli and son-in-law Mike and their children Luke and Lyla; Brother Henry Grady King IV and wife Cathey; Sister-in-law Catherine Gannon and husband Jeff; Brother-in-law, Jim Anderson; Sister-in-law Susan Anderson. Nieces and nephews: Andrew King, Deanna King Brown, Phillip King, Tommy King, Melanie and Chris Mikel, Gregory and Jessica Burns, Jeffrey and Angela Burns, Jodi and Tom Otter, Douglas and Kerri Gannon, Arica Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Chris Anderson and Goldie Beth Tabor.

Her parents Norma King Oleson and Henry Grady King III and her grandmother Eda Presley precede her in death.

The family received guests at Keever Mortuary on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service was held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Ennis, 210 N McKinney Street, all over a BBQ lunch at Sugar Ridge, 1450 Sugar Ridge Road from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm

Instead of flowers, the family asks that they be given to Helping Hands of Ennis, the Ennis Public Theater, or the First Presbyterian Church of Ennis.
