SCB Tip Off Classic Moves to Lakeland for 2022

KANSAS CITY, Mon., November 23, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Small College Basketball is excited to announce that the 2022 SCB Tip Off Classic is entering the Florida Southern College Campus for the next three years.

The tournament will be held at Jenkins Field House and will begin its three-year term on Saturday 5th November 2022. The event is also supported by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing.

The 2022 event is subject to some changes as it was previously called the SCB Hall of Fame Classic and featured eight teams. The incarnation 2022 will be expanded to 10 teams and renamed SCB Tip Off Classic. Lakeland is the third place the event has been hosted since it was founded in 2016.

For the past several years, the SCB Tip Off Classic has featured some of the best NCAA Division II institutions in the country. Hosting made possible Florida South Men’s basketball has plenty of opportunities to compete against nationally rated opponents.

Most recently, the SCB Tip Off Classic took place in St. Joseph, Mon., Beginning of November. After a one-year break in 2020, the event took place on the weekend of November 6th and 7 in the Civic Arena.

That was the case this year as the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ number 1 did in the preseason Northwest State of Missouri, No. 8 St. Thomas Aquinas (NY), No. 15 Northern state, and No. 16 Queens (NC) all took part.
