The Cowboys have had an impressive season with just one loss and five straight wins. The season of the Vikings was and is even divided with three defeats and three wins. Both teams are on the up and their winning streak leads into this matchup.
Dallas mainly owes its amazing comeback after a tough 2020 season to quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott returned this year after sitting with a leg injury for most of last year. Now he’s runner-up in the league with a completion rate of 73.1 and could win awards like Comeback Player of the Year and League MVP.
Cornerback Trevon Diggs also adds to the Cowboys’ chances of beating the Vikings and a trip to the Superbowl, which this season leads the league in interceptions by a whopping seven.
Additionally, former Buckeye Ezekiel Elliott looks like the old self who has made two 100-yard rushing performances in his last three games. So far this season Zeke has found the end zone six times.
Meanwhile, on the Vikings side, the team has proven their ability to move the ball well by finishing the league top eight in passing yards, rushing yards and total yards per game. Wide receivers Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are both advantages to the team. The team also has one of the best running backs in the league in Dalvin Cook, who finished second in the NFL in 2020 with 1,557 rushing yards.
With both teams having strong offensives, the game could be very dangerous, which has led to speculation that the crucial points could amount to field goals. Viking kicker Greg Joseph has had a dramatic season of field goal failures, adding to the drama of Sunday night’s game.
