Sodexo has partnered with Kiwibot, a robotics supplier for the last mile, to deliver meals to three locations this month: New Mexico State University, Loyola Marymount University, California, and Gonzaga University, Washington.

Kiwibot provides companies with comprehensive remote and on-site customer support and integrates with the point of sale to distribute food products via robots. Kiwibot and Sodexo envision a subscription program where anyone in a Sodexo-serviced location can access any goods that can fit in a robot and are located on a university campus.

College students use their meal plans to use robot delivery via the Bite + delivery app. Anyone with access to the app can use the service, with each delivery costing a flat rate of $ 2 plus 10% of the order amount.

Kiwibot was founded in 2017 and started a pilot project on the University of California-Berkeley campus. After completing over 150,000 shipments in Berkeley, Kiwibot expanded to San Jose, Santa Monica, Denver, Dallas, Taipei, and Medellin.

“We are excited to expand our robot delivery service with Kiwibot and offer our customers a secure, convenient, contactless and innovative solution,” said Aurelia Valot, VP of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Sodexo, in the press release.
