Studio-MLA plans new transformation of Fair Park in Dallas

Landscape architecture firm Studio-MLA was selected to design the new community park as part of the Fair Park Master Plan in Dallas, Texas. The project will replace over a thousand parking spaces and will include an 11 hectare park with a free program for children, adults and seniors. The team was selected by Fair Park First, Spectra and Biederman Redevelopment Ventures, and the new park will be the first project to emerge from the master plan update.

Studio-MLA will partner with Dallas-based landscape architects Studio Outside, FAIA architect Allison Grace Williams, and Dallas-based architects buildingcommunityWORKSHOP as the core design team. The planned design of the community park is expected to include a large lawn, a children’s playground with an interactive water feature, naturalized plantings, memorial gardens, a small pavilion for gatherings and movable tables and chairs.

Studio-MLA will work with neighborhood leaders, residents, local partners and other grassroots groups on their vision for the new community park and contribute to the design of the park by the community. More details will be announced at a later date.
