Texas Gun Range Holds ‘Not Guilty Sale’ After Rittenhouse Verdict – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
The owner of a gun shop and rifle range in Texas holds an “innocent sale” after Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges last Friday.
The Saddle River Range in Conroe texted customers about the “Pre-Black Friday Clearance Sale,” which began Saturday and will last until Thanksgiving.
The store also posted about the controversial text on its Instagram page, using a picture of Rittenhouse carrying a gun with the words “Not owed sale now through Thanksgiving.”
“We want to clear up some confusion, the post says.” We’re celebrating the life Kyle Rittenhouse is now allowed to live because he has been able to defend himself without being punished. This is a great win for the second amendment and a cause for celebration. To those of you who think we are celebrating “the deaths of innocent people,” we apologize for not taking the time to compile and evaluate the real facts of the case.
The sale includes discounts on firearms, gun parts, hunting and archery products, and several other items, the post said.
Houston NBC subsidiary KPRC spoke to the president of the NAACP Houston Chapter, who said he understood the need for business owners to promote sales but cautioned it could further divide the community as well.
“It cannot be overlooked that they protested the unjust shooting of a young African American named Jacob Blake, and it has turned the nation’s tone in a bad direction,” said Dr. James Dixon to KPRC. “I think it would be up to all of us to be sensitive to the messages we send out.”
