Thanksgiving football, Big 10 rivalry game score in ratings
NEW YORK (AP) – Even at a time when football is generally dominating TV ratings, the long Thanksgiving Day weekend was noteworthy.
CBS’s Dallas Cowboys vs. Las Vegas Raiders television show reached 37.8 million viewers, the largest for a regular-season NFL game since Thanksgiving in 1993, Nielsen said.
Meanwhile, Michigan’s win over Ohio State in the Big 10’s annual rivalry game was seen by 15.9 million people on Saturday afternoon. This is the most-watched college football game of the regular season since LSU-Alabama two years ago, said Nielsen.
It was also the largest audience for a college football game on Fox ever, the network said.
For the prime time week, NBC led averaging 6.8 million viewers. CBS had 4.8 million, Fox 3.4 million, ABC 3.2 million, Univision 1.3 million, ION Television 990,000 and Telemundo 840,000.
ESPN led the cable networks with an average of 2.83 million viewers in prime time. Fox News Channel had 2.11 million, Hallmark 2.01 million, Paramount 1.18 million and TBS 888,000.
