The 10 Best Things To Do In Dallas This Week (7/26-8/1).
Burst with 12th Planet, go up in smoke with Curren $ y, keep moving with Louis the kid, make a good impression with Melissa Villaseñor, and more.
Jeffery Bezos! You managed! Congratulations!
Just kidding.
We don’t care that the Amazon billionaire went on a field trip to the edge of space when his employees work in unsafe conditions, suffer miscarriages and just face general discrimination.
What is important to us is that after his return to earth, this man had the cheek to thank Amazon employees and customers for paying for his flight at the press conference.
Yes, we officially left the territory “read the room” and entered “Where is your soul, man?!?!?!”. Area.
Among the passengers on Bezos’ Blue Origin flight, including two billionaires and the teenage son of a millionaire investor, the only person who could wash our bitter tastes from our mouths was our new space queen, 82-year-old grapevine native Wally Funk , who was finally allowed into space after 60 years of waiting as part of the Mercury 13 program.
Anyway, between the flight from Bezos and the similar outing of Virgin billionaire Richard Brandon a few weeks ago, we assume that space tourism is now officially on the horizon. But do we really need another industry to indulge the super rich and destroy Hell’s environment more closely?
We leave the answer to this question to you, dear reader.
How for us Well, even if we can’t get you tickets for a commercial space flight in the foreseeable future, we can tell you the best events this week around Dallas. Granted, you won’t be floating around in zero gravity in any of these situations. But hey, drink enough and you may feel like you are! – Frances Tingle

This Saturday Night Live sweetheart – the first Latina performer in the show’s history, by the way – poses a real triple threat between her comedy, music, and art. This weekend she is coming to bless North Texas comedy fans with five shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is safe to say that there will likely be some impressions. – FT

The dollyrots on three links
Some Central Track readers weren’t even back during the 2000 presidential election – but without President George W. Bush’s victory, the couple of terrified pop-punks might never have been disaffected enough with the world to start rock ‘n’ roll Lifestyle. All those years later, the regular Bowling For Soup openers have nine albums on their name – including the 2019 Daydream Blast, which the band will happily draw on at this show, considering how the pandemic increases the band’s chances of doing this to support, somehow ruined album last year. – AC
Caifane in the House of Blues
These Mexico City rockers – often referred to as the Mexican version of The Cure – have been serving Gothic looks and rock en Español tunes since the late 80s. By mixing progressive rock and new wave sounds with Latin percussion and vocal styles, it’s easy to understand how these guys have knocked off the socks of misfits and delinquents across Mexico and the US for so long. – FT
