Blist’r Indian cuisine
Sun – Thu: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Fri – Sat: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
The Dhai Papari in the Legacy Hall’s Blist’r Indian Kitchen … a great option for Legacy Hall dining!
Blist’r Indian Kitchen is the brainchild of Dallas restaurateurs Mark Brezinski (Pei Wei, Velvet Taco), Pardeep Sharma (India Palace, Roti Grill, Lita’s La Mexicana) and Gilbert Garza (Suze Restaurant). The restaurant is a mix of modern and contemporary approaches to Indian cuisine, thanks largely to Chef Keshab Sharma. It certainly adds a higher standard of culinary art to the already tempting selection of restaurants in the Legacy Hall!
Sharma’s passion for food stems from his love of art and science – art through food display and science due to the large number of spice and flavor combinations that could come together to create something new and exciting.
As an Indian, I’d like to say that I was drawn to some of the more traditional dishes on the menu that I ate as a kid – Vegetable Samosas, Vegetable Biryani, Channa Aloo, Mattar Paneer. However, I am also intrigued by the contemporary touch of many of the other menu items. The Dhai-Papari from Blist’r Indian Kitchen has flair, with its neat blobs of yoghurt and delicate garnishes. I’m also very intrigued by the curly fries that are served with masala sauce or vindaloo.
Roots Chicken Shake
Sun – Wed: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Thu – Sat: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Southern comfort under Legacy Hall food!
Beaumont-based Tiffany Derry is a top chef competitor – among the top four contestants of Season 7 and named “Fan Favorite” – and an All-Star Chef Finalist. She started her culinary career at her local IHOP and quickly worked her way up the company. She became the youngest manager at the age of 17. She received her culinary degree from the Art Institute of Houston and learned different cuisines through studying abroad in Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy, France, China and Hawaii. After graduation, she worked in several prestigious restaurants in Houston and Dallas before opening Roots Chicken Shak, paying homage to her southern roots.
If you’re looking for that traditional, home-cooked Southern vibe, this popular Legacy Hall restaurant is for you! You can get plain old chicken wings or strips served with a trio of homemade sauces. For something more filling, try The Big Bird, a sandwich made with kale, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and red mayo, filled between delicious sweet potato buns. Spice lovers must try the Spicy Bird – Big Bird’s cool cousin – made with pepper jack cheese and kimchi mayo. Everything in the Roots Chicken Shak is fried in duck fat, which Tiffany says you’ll come “bwak” for more.

The fabulously meaty entry of our top food picks in Legacy Hall!
Chef Joshua Degenhardt is a second generation sausage maker born in Germany. His family has been perfecting the art of sausage making for over 30 years. In Degenhardt’s Brat Haus, everything is made by hand from the finest ingredients. These sausages are free from gluten, soy, dairy products, MSG and nitrates and nitrites. It’s just good meat, pure and simple.
Try the 100% Texan Beef Cowboy Brat and support local farmers. Or if you’re in the mood for adventure, maybe the Spätzle: homemade German egg noodles, sautéed with caramelized onions and your choice between Hot Italian Brat or Beer Brat.
It wouldn’t be Texas without a Tex-Mex twist, which Degenhardt has in the form of the Tijuana Dog – a beef hot dog, served on a sesame bun, loaded with toasted chipotle corn, tossed with Cotija cheese and coriander and garnished with a slice of lime. Yes, please!
Press Waffle Co.
Sun – Thu: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Fri – Sat: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Of course, we wouldn’t let you go on a culinary pilgrimage to Legacy Hall without picking up something sweet.
Chefs and owners Caleb and Brian Lewis founded Press Waffle Co. after Brian visited Europe with his wife in 2013 and discovered Liège waffles: thick Belgian waffles with lumps of sugar. Upon returning to Dallas, Brian found that he couldn’t find waffles anywhere in the Liege area. As is well known, necessity makes inventive and soon Press Waffle Co. was born. Their waffles are made from batter that has risen for 24 hours for maximum flavor and texture, and then loaded with caramelized grapes made from Belgian pearl sugar.
For fans of a classic strawberry-chocolate combination, try the house waffle with Nutella, biscuit butter, fresh strawberries and whipped cream. For a bitter treat, opt for the Southern Belle: a lemon curd waffle with fresh blueberries and whipped cream. If you’re looking for something small to round off your meal – it’s understandably difficult to walk into the Legacy Hall and not stop at multiple vendors – grab a waffle. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a tiny waffle on a stick served with a dipping sauce. There are hearty options like the Soulman, which is served with fried chicken, bacon, and maple syrup. Or try to create the perfect combination of flavors by choosing between 15 different toppings.
I know the options get my head around too. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Chilangos tacos
Sun – Thu: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Fri – Sat: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

And of course, you can’t go wrong with a good, old-fashioned taco. Chef Joel Mendoza serves up authentic Mexico City street-style tacos with almost every ingredient made by hand – from tortillas to salsa to skewered meat. You can imagine the Chilangos Tacos stand smelling heavenly.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong here; it’s all classic and timeless, and the fact that the Legacy Hall dining is a bonus. I will never get tired of a carne asada or barbacoa taco.
At the weekend there are tacos filled with birria, a meat stew for special occasions that is traditionally made from goat, beef or mutton and served with a delicious dip sauce. You can also get birria quesatacos with melted cheese. If you’re just looking for a starter, try Elote, a creamy mix of corn, mayo, sour cream, and cheese. For dessert, eat the churros and rinse everything off with a little Horchata Agua Fresca.
