Ai LIVE is the college’s digital TV platform that became popular at the start of the pandemic for connecting Ai audiences in a virtual yet meaningful way. The energetic host of Ai LIVE, E. Vincent MartinezFashion Week is no stranger to her. Martinez, a sought-after media personality and creator of the interactive lifestyle brand Fashionado, has conducted exclusive interviews with celebrities and fashion icons and is returning to NYFW in person this year.
Ai’s vast global community includes passionate artists, staunch designers, and determined creatives – many who would one day want to attend NYFW in person. AI alumni, Johnathan Hayden
In particular, fashion designer, creative director and alumnus of The Dallas Art Institute, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, Johnathan Hayden, will be showing his collection at Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) Forever Renaissance Show and Style Awards. HFR’s NYFW 2021 show that opens Fashion Week Tuesday September 7th at 8 p.m. EST, is more than a catwalk show – it’s a family get-together with a lively look at emerging color collection designers. As a color designer, Hayden explores his own identity through his brand, admiringly infusing his cultural heritage and respect for STEM and technology into his womenswear designs. Hayden is on the official IMG / NYFW calendar with an additional digital show for the 9th of September at 3:30 a.m..
In addition to his NYFW appearance, Hayden will design a shop window at Bergdorf Goodman. The world famous Fifth Avenue windows will showcase different looks from each designer featured in this year’s HFR.
Hayden began his fashion career in 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from The Dallas Art Institute and earned his MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Hayden previously hailed his education for preparing him for a career in fashion. “[Ai] really prepares its students to enter the industry with practical and real-world goals, rather than inflated and sugar-sweet dreams of becoming big stars. ”
Today, Hayden is respected for his dedication to couture techniques and sustainable design and production, as well as his unique ability to combine the worlds of fashion, art and technology. In 2016, his work helped explore meaningful applications of technology in fashion, including augmented reality, which was showcased at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Bridging the gap between fashion and technology, Hayden and the Ai design team have something in common.
Ai LIVE will also bridge this fashion and technology gap by bringing NYFW 2021 closer to a global audience through its social media channels.
