The Greater Dallas Planning Council Announces the 2021 Urban Design Award Winners |

DALLAS, December 6, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – The Greater Dallas Planning Council (GDPC) recognizes excellence in local urban planning and design through its annual Urban Design Awards reception. The 2021 winners will be honored on Tuesday December 7th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Latino Cultural Center in Dallas. The awards will highlight individuals, groups and communities for their contribution to improving the region. A jury made up of experts from the planning, engineering and architecture sectors examines the proposals and recommends projects and people who deserve special recognition.

The categories and winners of the Urban Design Award 2021 are:

BUILT PROJECT AWARD – was completed within the last five years and improves the character, the sense of place and the structure of the community and has or has the potential to catalyze positive changes in the built environment

Winner: AT&T Discovery District

Honorable Mention: Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza in the old City

There is also a brief annual general meeting to elect and greet the board and officers of the GDPC 2022, followed by a reception to honor the winners of the GDPC and recognize the great design work done by the DFW.
