Also: Good thing because this is Dallas and this city always has the latest restaurant news coming down like whoa.

As in this section, we’ve got the latest restaurant news in Dallas once again – including the newest frozen treat store in Downtown Dallas.

Zero degrees, the long awaited ice cream concept from the Australian minds behind it 400 degrees, has finally opened next to the pizzeria, reports CultureMap. Here, at the first location in the States, guests can choose from over 20 different flavors of Italian dessert – and that’s not all. Italian pastries are also on the program and guests can also let their hearts beat faster at the espresso bar. Also worth noting: many of Zero Gradi’s recipes use pistachios instead of paste. Ice cream that we can say is healthy? Were sold.

Speaking of sold, we were hyped on the arrival of Red dog and Zoli’s NY Pizza Local sister Thunderbird pies in East Dallas now for a minute. Now after first teasing a March arrival for this Detroit style pizza place taking over the old one When rotating Place near White Rock Lake, owner Jay Jerrier revealed this week that Thunderbird pies and its first ice cream parlor location in Dallas Dairy for tipping cows arrives “soon” at his house at 7328 Gaston Avenue.

After opening last year with an evening menu with down-to-earth dishes such as Bologna sandwiches and sloppy joes, the bar kitchen will present a new brunch menu this weekend, which will be served on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00 . Guests can expect a selection of breakfast burritos (each of which can be ordered fried for an additional charge), breakfast versions of many of its dinner dishes (including a breakfast frito cake option that adds egg and tater tots to the mix), specialty items such as the cinnamon toast crunch sticks, which are served with whipped cream enriched with bacon, and a new range of brunch-specific cocktails.

Unfortunately, it’s been a wild week for Thunderbird Station’s Deep Ellum neighbors Love and cheese and Sky Rocket Burgerthat the Dallas Observer notes were broken into last week. Fortunately, Sky Rocket was able to replace its broken door and get back up and running within hours. Amor y Queso, its owner, was equally happy Sarah Carlock said that after she received a late night phone call from police alerting her to the break-in, neighboring business owners and residents immediately texted her letting her know that they would be keeping an eye on things. This is not a big surprise as the owners have been eager to retire sooner or later for several years now. Still, it’s sad to see an institution go. Change is hard, okay?

Speaking of switching: over at the Cedars, D Magazine finds that Chef Reyna Duong now offers Vietnamese coffee in their acclaimed Banh Mi shop Sandwich Hag, with beans that are ethically sourced from Vietnam. She also sells the beans and supplies in her walk-up shop and plans to make educational videos so her customers can learn how to brew and make the coffee at home. After Lower Greenville Restaurant Toasted Got in some trouble earlier this year because of their, uh, unique take on Vietnamese coffee, it’s cool to see Duong go out of his way to make sure Dallasites have access to the real thing.

A bit of Dallas authenticity is also the order of the day in the new beer garden that is to be opened in the old one Jake’s burger on Henderson Avenue. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Mayer’s garden – the latest concept from the owners behind Lower Greenville’s Alamo Club – take a bit of inspiration with their new spot from a late 19th century hotspot in downtown Dallas of the same name, which will debut along the Strip this September.

The Design District is also preparing to welcome a new bar to its menu: Popular Dallas Bartender Jermey Elliott will be called a new 70s style cocktail lounge Double Ds. Just up in Richardson, a popular Japanese pop-up is coming to life in a standalone location this fall. This week the team behind it Café Okaeri told CultureMap of his plans to bring animal-shaped bento boxes of curries and rice servings covered with okonomiyaki pancakes to his new Chinatown-adjoining home.
