Irving likes to refer to itself as “Headquarters Headquarters,” and thanks to Las Colinas, the city attracts more corporate headquarters per capita than any other US city.
Eight Fortune 500 companies have their global headquarters in Irving. A total of 53 Fortunate 500 companies have offices in the city.
What Makes Irving Business Popular?
Businesses are drawn to Irving’s central Dallas / Fort Worth location, lifestyle amenities like Lake Carolyn and Toyota Music Factory, business-friendly policies, widespread 5G technology, and quality healthcare, said Beth Bowman, president and CEO of the Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and Irving Economic Development Partnership.
“We are also proud of our city’s diverse population,” said Bowman, “which employers say is an important asset to the workforce and is critical to the recruitment of corporate headquarters in Irving-Las Colinas.”

McKesson Corp., No. 7
McKesson Corp. took 7th place. the top position among all North Texas companies. As the largest pharmaceutical distributor in the country, McKesson played a key role in moving COVID-19 vaccine shipments across the country. In 2019, the company relocated its global headquarters from San Francisco to Irving.

Exxon Mobil, No. 10
Exxon-Mobil, the long-running North Texas company on the Fortune 500 list, fell seven places to 10th this year. Exxon-Mobil is one of the world’s largest utilities and chemical manufacturers, a sector affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
