This Dallas neighbor scores spot among top family-friendly suburbs

Coppell is a great place to live.

Niche.com already rates the Dallas neighbor as a top Texas suburb. Now Realtor.com has put Coppell at the top of its new list of the best family-friendly suburbs in the US

Coppell appears in 4th place in the ranking of Realtor.com. The only other suburb of Texas that made the list is Tomball outside of Houston, which lands at number 5.

Given the lifestyle changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Realtor.com decided to analyze the data to compile a list of the 11 most family-friendly suburbs where parents actually want to live. Realtor.com looked at the 11 largest cities in the country and then selected suburbs in each metropolitan area with a population of at least 10,000.

Factors Realtor.com takes into account include the percentage of children living in each suburb, local school rankings, the number of family-friendly businesses (like daycare), commute times, and the presence of restaurants, bars, and activities.

Denville, New York, a suburb of New York City, tops the list.

Realtor.com named Coppell in fourth place “a good option for families who want to expand but still want to be close to the big city”. The population is around 43,000.

“Outdoor activities abound, including kayaking the Trinity River and hiking the trails in Coppell Nature Park,” says Realtor.com. “Parents of budding naturalists should also check out the Biodiversity Education Center in the park. Families can pick up free activity kits or take part in other hands-on educational programs. “

The website also cites the newly built Coppell Arts Center and Children’s Stories and Adult Book Club in the local library.

Realtor.com describes the fifth suburb of Houston, Tomball, as “a first class place for families, with a small town feel but big city advantages”. Its population sits near 12,300.

The website mentions the numerous restaurants and festivals you can enjoy at Old Town Tomball on Main Street, along with the suburb’s walking and biking trails and the railroad depot museum.
