This Mexican Dine-In Chain Just Revamped Its Entire Menu With More Than 20 New Items

If any of the following makes your tummy growl – a burger smothered in smoky queso, a fajita with shredded brisket, and honey chipotle prawns – then there’s even more craving for where that comes from. A Mexican chain with locations in 31 states just rolled out major menu upgrades that they promise will find fans “brave” and “wistful”. You decide.

Headquartered near Dallas, On the Border Grill & Cantina has introduced some fresh upgrades to its modern Tex-Mex menu. Starting last Thursday, guests at the chain’s locations in the south, midwest and east of the country, with a few restaurants on the west coast, will see menu additions ranging from cocktail and appetizer upgrades to more tacos and bolder appetizers (“More Steak on the sizzling plate, “says a spokesman for Eat This, Not That!), As well as a new dessert.

On The Border announced the launch of 10 new handcrafted Tex-Mex cocktails. These are led by the ultra-premium Diamante Margarita and Ranch Water with Tequila (with Fever Tree Lime Yuzu Soda and fresh lime); and the Maker’s’ Rita, which contains Maker’s Mark, shaken with fresh citric acid.

The chain has launched this “Texas-size” smokehouse fajita dish, served with chipotle ribs, jalapeño sausage, braised carnitas, and shredded beef brisket. (At 2,530 calories and costing almost $ 40, this one could be a divider.)

On the Border has also introduced a couple of new taco concepts, such as Tacos Al Pastor with braised carnitas and pineapple salsa.

On the border Monterey Ranch Chicken Torta

Mexican food lovers know that a torta means a mean sandwich, typically on crispy bolillo buns – like this one: a Monterey Ranch Chicken Torta with mesquite-grilled chicken and crumbled bacon, and a braised Carnitas Torta with grated cabbage and creamy red sauce.

It’s loaded, it’s queso, it’s a burger. We bet that On the Border’s new Loaded Queso Burger with pickled jalapeños and tortilla strips is likely to be a hit. (It’s also 1,520 calories, for reference only.)

The chain describes its debut of this traditional Mexican dessert as “a light cake soaked in three types of sweet milk”.

Attention: We are fans of great taste – just be aware that, alongside the cocktails with 750 calories per serving, Tres Leches seems to be the lowest calorie dish of the new menu intros from On the Border.
