🍷 natural wine 101
Neighborhood Cellar has revived its Wine 101 series and the next installation is about natural wine – Natty Vino, Vin Naturel, biodynamic grape juice. In the wine bar Bishop Arts, 20 guests can have a sip and find out about the hottest wine trends of the time. (Four types of wine and snacks from Fount Board & Table for US $ 35. Entrance to all events at 11:30 am and wine tastings from 12 noon to 1 pm) Wine 101 Dates: August 28: Natural Wine, September 11: Gamay , Oct. 2: Cabernet Franc vs. Cabernet Sauvignon, Oct. 23: Zinfandel, Nov. 13: Pinot Noir, Dec. 4: Sparkling.

Learn how to cook barbecue with OAK’D BBQ Chef Michael Lane.

🍖 Pitmaster University
A lot is learned on this Saturday. First wine, now this series of barbecues. OAK’D BBQ chef Michael Lane teaches how to cut meat, control temperature, timing, seasoning and more. Each class costs $ 225 and runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. If you can’t make it that Saturday, the show will run until the end of the year.

🥃 Dallas Summer Whiskey Tasting Festival
Quaff whiskey from about a dozen local distilleries, from Blacklands Texas Pecan to a small batch from 1884 from Uncle Nearest (named after the black man who taught Jack Daniel the craft of distilling. Tickets cost $ 50-105.

🎻 DSO opening dinner & wine festival
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is hosting an opening ceremony featuring wine, craft beers, local spirits (the drinkable, not the haunted kind), and canapés from some of Dallas’s best restaurants: Petra and the Beast, Meridian, Mot Hai Ba, and Krio, to name but a few to name a few.
