DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Thousands of people crowded downtown Dallas on Saturday morning to watch the annual Christmas parade.

The decades-long tradition came back after a year break due to the pandemic. This year’s theme was “Returning to Our Traditions”.

“It’s beautiful, it’s wonderful,” said parade participant Virginia Franklin.

Thousands of people lined the streets to witness the sparkle and glitter, the marching bands, the colorful floats, and the giant inflatable balloons.

“With the parade, it feels like Christmas before Christmas because it brings people together,” said parade visitor Jacob Elliot.

This move has become a holiday tradition for many families. Now that it’s back they say they never want to lose it again.

This year, live entertainment was provided from the AT&T Discovery stage. The parade also worked with the North Texas Food Bank.
