Two North Texas stores and a restaurant planned to be open by now. Blame it on the supply chain.

Building material shortages and delays are pushing opening dates back everywhere. Here are three Dallas-Fort Worth stores that are set to open now.

Samsung intended to open a large adventure store in Frisco’s Stonebriar Center in time for Christmas shopping. Instead, it had to design a temporary space anchored by a Ford Wagon in the mall’s corridor. Samsung’s four other Experience Stores in Houston, Los Angeles, Palo Alto and New York opened before the 2019 pandemic.

The Frisco Store is set to open right after Christmas.

The New York Deli Sadelle had expected to open in Highland Park Village by now. The new target date is December 15, said Stephen Summers, executive director of Highland Park Village.

“The supply chain problems are making construction difficult,” he said. “It can take 16 weeks to get burners for hobs.”

Austin-based casual wear retailer Tyler’s left its long-standing location on Lovers Lane last summer and has been trying to open in Preston Royal Village for several months. The chain with seven stores in Texas has had stores in the Dallas market since 2006. Tyler’s takes up a good portion of the former Barnes & Noble space.

A spokeswoman said on Thursday that the store “is expected to open in the next few days”.

Barnes & Noble has been at Preston Royal Village Shopping Center for 15 years.
