Mission statement

Union Gospel Mission Dallas is changing lives to end homelessness one by one by providing more than shelter, food, and clothing. We also offer discipleship and recovery programs, professional training and development, government-licensed childcare services, medical care, transportation, drug abuse prevention, and temporary and permanent housing.

2021-2022 goals

At Union Gospel Mission Dallas, we have set a fundraising goal of $ 400,000. In the 2021-2022 period, we are rolling out additional programs and partnerships to provide psychological counseling and recovery courses. We will continue to equip and train our customers so they can lead independent, successful lives.

Areas served

As the largest and oldest homeless shelter in Dallas County, Union Gospel Mission Dallas is committed to providing a clean, safe, and friendly environment for the homeless community. We welcome men, women, children, and veterans seeking refuge in two properties: Calvert Place and Center of Hope.

Fundraising events

After a year of events being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Union Gospel Mission Dallas looks forward to working with community members to raise funds on Giving Tuesday, as well as through our annual Will Thompson Memorial Golf Classic and Project Vintage Runway fashion show and gala. Online donations can be made at ugmdallas.org.

Volunteer Opportunities

Union Gospel Mission Dallas welcomes volunteers to both the Calvert Place Men’s Shelter and the Center of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter. The volunteer functions include catering services, chapel providers, Bible study leaders, counselors, mentors, drug rehab counselors, teaching and tutoring, and a holiday Bible school. There are also opportunities for volunteer work on special occasions.

Donation opportunities

Union Gospel Mission Dallas offers several ways to donate, including donating online at donate.ugmdallas.org, Legacy Giving at ugmlegacygifts.org, the Giving Day event in North Texas, Giving Tuesday, and through AmazonSmile, where you can attend the Union Gospel Mission Dallas as yours can choose charity of choice. More information is available at ugmdallas.org.
