Valiev & Azoides Rep Tech at Midland Racquet Club Invitational



LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men’s tennis team has an impressive start to the Fall 2021 season with a solid showing off the roster at the Midland Racquet Club Invitational.

Dimi Azoides never missed a stroke as he made it back to the final after beating (# 91) Texas A & M’s Pierce Rollins 4-6, 6-4, 7-6. Red Raider Senior Ilgiz Valie reached the quarterfinals in singles, defeating participants from Rice and UTSA before losing to eventual champion Baptiste Anselmo from Oklahoma.

Valieve and Azoides then teamed up in doubles to advance to the semi-finals, defeating teams from Rice and Texas A&M.

Next up: The Red Raiders will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Dallas for the Lakes Invitational (September 17-19).
