We may sound like your mom here, but we want to remind you of the delivery delays and supply chain bottlenecks that are already starting to hit this holiday season. So instead of stressing out when your valuable parcels will show up on your doorstep, why not go to the well-stocked stores in person and help out some local businesses? From a furniture store that’s really passed out to a bespoke lipstick boutique, there are plenty of ways to gift everyone on your list. Don’t you believe us? See for yourself.
Allie + Bess (for your younger sister)
The e-commerce brand is opening its new headquarters at 11882 Greenville Ave., Suite B125, for a limited time during the holidays so Dallasites can purchase Christmas gifts in person. The doors are open until December 21 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They offer special Christmas editions of their famous bracelet “stacks” and gifts at all prices.
Buff City soap (for your niece or nephew)
Those who know and love the Snider Plaza location will be quick to share the news with their suburban friends that the brand is expanding to both Prosper and Southlake. In fact, both are now open, offering shop-goers to watch the soap-making process. New to the brand? Buff City Soap offers plant-based soaps and other body products that are free from sulfates, harsh chemicals, detergents, and animal fats.
Fort Worth flea style (for your most fashionable friend)
You went to Cowtown this Christmas shopping season? Be sure to check out Flea Style’s newest location in the bustling new Mule Alley area of Fort Worth Stockyards. In addition to western-inspired clothing, jewelry and home accessories, the store also has a hat bar where customers can make their own Stetson hat with funky accents and accessories. Make a day out of it and explore the cool new shops and restaurants or spend the weekend at the rustic, luxurious Hotel Drover.
Mari’s day (for your husband)
Just in time for the cozy season, the Dallas flip-flop shop has launched its first slipper collection. These winter wonders are made from 100 percent real premium Texas lambskin lining and have a rubber outsole. The line includes six styles, ranging from a slipper to a moccasin booty for women to a loafer slipper for men. Comfort looks mighty high folks.
Leatherology (for your mom) The first brick and mortar store for the Dallas-based brand is now open in the NorthPark Center on the first level between Nordstrom and Macy’s. With products made from the finest full-grain and Italian leathers, the brand promotes that great design and quality can be found at an affordable price. Find items for women, men, travel, and fashion, then personalize them with a printed or hand-painted monogram. It’s a great new place to browse – trust us when we say this showroom is really chic.
Lip laboratory (for your favorite colleague) Go to level one of NorthPark, between Macy’s and Dillard’s, to see the latest concept from Bite Beauty. This sensual lipstick experience allows guests to discover new lip products and create their own (e-gift cards allow the experience to be passed on to others). Create the perfect product from over 30 plus pigments, four flavors and four finishes; they are refillable and some are even vegan.
market (For you, of course) This highland Park Village adventure shopping destination is attracting more vacation shoppers with its recent partnership with Napa Valley’s Aloha Wine Cellars. Shoppers can sip the limited edition branded rose named Aloha x MARKET Highland Park Village while ticking off their vacation lists. Cheers to all of that!
OKA (for your friend who just moved)
The British brand has chosen its second American stationary location on McKinney Avenue in Dallas. The special features of the shop include a bar with faux flowers and an extensive collection of decorative pillows in all imaginable colors. We also love how the store is set up as a stage and presents fully furnished, shoppable spaces.
Urban peaks (for your child’s teacher)
Dallas’ focal point for juicy arrangements has a new headquarters at 4885 Alpha Rd. (Across from the Galleria). Urban Spikes creates modern botanical, succulent and cactus designs with the ability to personalize sand patterns and natural accents in any arrangement. Owner Courtney Goldberg will even walk you through the process of creating a design that allows for maximum style and minimal maintenance.
Vivi’s Victory Park (for your hostess with most)
The new Victory Park boutique offers a selection of women’s clothing as well as unique gifts (think Smith & Sinclair adult cocktail candies, Musee bath products, Capri Blue candles, Farm House Fresh beauty products, AB.LINO hats and trendy accessories like the Bracha initial chain). They also offer creative pet toys like the wallet-shaped “Chewy Vuitton”, as well as chic leashes and collars. Monograms and gift wrapping are available in the store now at 2412 Victory Park Ln. between Museum Way and Nowitzki Way.
