Why celebrity real estate agent Fredrik Eklund finds Dallas special

Dallas has a new celebrity in town with real estate reality star Fredrik Eklund in Bravo.

As part of the Eklund-Gomes team at New York real estate firm Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Eklund is a longtime star of the popular television show Million Dollar Listing. The native Swede appears in both the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and the Million Dollar Listing New York and has 1.3 million Instagram followers.

The Eklund-Gomes team is based in New York, California, Flordia and recently added Texas to its markets. Eklund said the Dallas market was a natural next step for Douglas Elliman’s team.

“It just feels right,” he said.

Dallas has seen an influx of out-of-state home buyers over the past year, and reports have reported that many of these buyers are from the Los Angeles market. Eklund said that with years of experience in key markets outside of the state, he and the team understand the unique needs of these buyers.

“Half of the buyers we deal with in Texas are from California, New York, or Florida,” said Eklund.

Douglas Elliman recently announced the opening of its Dallas office despite previously marketing homes in the Houston and Austin areas. The Eklund-Gomes team is marketing real estate across Texas with a new development in North Oak Cliff, a selection of townhouses called Kessler West, one of the team’s first listings in Dallas. The team has townhouses for $ 889,119 with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and one half bath.

Eklund has now visited Dallas several times and embraced the Dallas culture. When he’s in town, you might find him having a steak at the Park House in Highland Park Village. It’s a staple every time he visits the city.

But Eklund won’t be based in Texas. He recently moved to California with his family and has been traveling the country all week. Eklund is confident that his team’s local agents will be a key to success in the market.

“We have to rely on the people who know more than we do and recognize that and empower them,” said Eklund.

When asked which city in Texas has the best homes for sale, Eklund said asking him to pick a favorite child of his twins was an impossible question. But when it comes to his personal preferences and style, he said the Dallas homes go best with his preferred look.

“You have the old and the new, the perfect mix that everyone wants,” he said.

He said it’s incredible what is available to Dallas buyers in the luxury market, from architecture and shopping to the culture and size of the homes.

“I’m so in love and impressed,” he said.
