With the scary season of the year, the holidays continue with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. Here is a list of upcoming seasonal events for those who want to enjoy local festivals.
Rome
Turkey Trot
The Turkey Trot returns to the GHC Floyd Campus on November 17th at 11am. GHC students, faculty and staff are invited to the event, which will follow a course around Lake Paris. There will be food and prizes for the participants.
The men’s deputy basketball coach, Greg Schiefen, is coordinating the event.

Cartersville
A country Christmas party at Pettit Creek Farms
Pettit Creek Farms will reopen on Christmas Thanksgiving night for their country Christmas event.
The opening times are Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tickets for a ride through a mile-long Christmas lights or a hay cart ride are available online and at the gate. The transit fare is $ 30 for cars (1-8 people), $ 35 for vans (9-15 people), and $ 45 for buses (16-22 people) with an additional $ 3 for each person over 22 people. Hayrides costs USD 10 per person 2 years and older.
A variety of other attractions are on offer at this Southern-style Christmas, including pictures with Santa in Santa’s Cottage, a nativity and petting zoo, and a campfire with s’mores.

A Christmas song
A play from “A Christmas Carol” will be performed at the Legion Theater in Cartersville December 3-5 and December 10-12. The play begins on December 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th at 8pm and then at 3pm on December 5th and 12th. Tickets cost $ 15 to $ 18.
Watch the classic story, originally written by Charles Dickens, unfold on stage. The piece was adapted by Will Brooks.

Dallas
Festival of Trees
The Dallas Merchants Association is hosting the annual Festival of Trees from November 26th to December 3rd. The event will take place at the water fountain near the pavilion clearing in downtown Dallas.
Sponsors who register for the event will thematically decorate their trees. The trees will be exhibited in the pavilion clearing.

Dallas theater
The Dallas Theater will host a number of Christmas events this December.
The Atlanta Christmas Extravaganza features the Brett McDonald Band who will perform well-known Christmas music. It will take place on Saturday, December 4th at 7pm. Tickets are regular $ 25 and $ 23 concessions.
The Nutcracker piece will be shown on Friday, December 10th at 7pm, Saturday, December 11th at 3pm and 7pm and Sunday, December 12th at 3pm. Tickets are regular $ 14 and $ 12 concessions.
The classic Christmas film “It’s a Wonderful Life” will air on Friday, December 17th. shown for free at 7 p.m. First come first serve.

Marietta
Lights of life
A Christmas light ensemble will be on view from November 25th to December 31st at Life University in Marietta.
The opening times are Sunday to Thursday from morning to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from morning to 10 p.m.
Admission is $ 10 per car and $ 20 per bus. Other attractions include a petting zoo, pony rides, and train rides.

Atlanta and Surroundings
Momocon winter festival
The Atlanta Video Game and Anime Convention returns with its two-day Winterfest event at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Hours of operation are Sat. December 18 at 10 am through Sun. Dec. 19 at 6 pm. Registration prices are $ 30 for Saturday, $ 25 for Sunday, and $ 40 for both days.
This vacation-themed conference will feature special guests and speakers including voice actors, cartoonists, and online personalities like Steve Blum and Anairis Quinones. Art and merchandise sellers are available to visitors. Sellers can register to sell their wares at the convention.
Arcades, tabletop games, panels, tournaments and a cosplay competition are also featured.

Six Flags Vacation in the Park
Six Flags Over Georgia will be decked out with tinsel and candy canes for Holiday in the Park from November 20 through January 6.
Day tickets are $ 39.99 per person and 2022 Season Passes are currently available for $ 54.99 per person. Parking is $ 25.
Hot chocolate will be available from food stalls across the park, with the option to purchase a Holiday in the Park souvenir mug to refill at discounted prices.
A train ride organized by Mrs. Claus leads visitors through the park through Christmas lights.
