Florida logistics firm plans huge shipping hub in South Fort Worth

A Florida logistics company is expanding its North Texas presence with a huge new shipping center in South Fort Worth.

SaddleCreek Logistic Services, headquartered in Lakeland, Fla, has rented an 860,000 square foot distribution building off Interstate 35W.

Dallas-based Ascendant Commercial Real Estate owns the new warehouse at Global Logistics Park.

“We showed a firm commitment to South Fort Worth when we laid the foundation for the largest speculative industrial development in October 2020,” said Steve Bradford of Ascendant Commercial in an email. “We are very excited that SaddleCreek sees the growth potential of South Fort Worth and we are honored to be part of their growth and continued success in Texas.”

Founded in 1966, SaddleCreek Logistic Services is a product fulfillment and integrated supply chain company providing warehouse and transportation services.

The company operates out of nearly four dozen facilities stretching from Florida to the Northeast, the Midwest, and California.

In Texas, SaddleCreek has shipping centers in Fort Worth, Roanoke, and suburban Houston.

The new location will open in December.

“We’re seeing tremendous demand for centrally located sales facilities that are ready to handle the growing volume of orders,” said Bobby Hays, regional vice president of operations at Saddle Creek, in a statement. “Fort Worth is a prime location for expansion because it is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and a thriving business center with a diverse workforce.

“It’s also conveniently located for efficient and inexpensive transportation,” he said. “Many US markets are grounded in two days or less.”

Steve Koldyke and J. Scott Moore of the CBRE Group negotiated the new construction contract for South Fort Worth with Gary V. Lindsey of Newmark and Ladson Montgomery of the Newmark Phoenix Realty Group.

“We added more than 5.5 million square feet of warehouse space this year,” said Rob Pericht of Saddle Creek. “This brings our total area nationwide to 31 million square feet.”

Client Ascendant Commercial is a developer and investor with several industrial projects.

The commercial real estate company plans to build 2.2 million square feet of warehouse space on its 130-acre industrial park in South Fort Worth.
