Business Beat: Hospice firm opens in Longview | Business Beat

Dallas-based Three Oaks Hospice is ready to receive patients in Longview.

The company’s executives have local connections. CEO Andrea Bohannon attended Spring Hill schools. Local Executive Director Sean Seelbach is from Henderson and moved to Longview in March.

“We teamed up to start a startup in this area to support East Texas,” he said. The Longview-Tyler division is growing, he said. “Our company was not currently represented in East Texas.”

The company offers hospice care services, but said Three Oaks is considering adding more services in the future that are not available in this area.

“We are ready to help patients in the East Texas region,” said Seelbach. “We’re from East Texas. We want to take care of our community because they are our families and friends. “

The Three Oaks Hospice is located at 911 W. Loop 281, Suite 209 in the Austin Bank / Morgan Stanley building. For more information, please call (903) 551-3400 or www.threeoakshospice.com/longview.

Henderson Theater reopens

The owners of One Sheep Coffee and Tea in Longview expanded their business by reopening the Henderson Cinema.

April and Ron Thompson also plan to open a cafe in the theater.

Formerly known as Plaza Cinema 3, the movie theater is now called Lion’s Den Cinema 3 with a lion logo for the Henderson Lions mascot, April Thompson said.

The couple lived in Henderson for about 12 to 13 years before moving to Longview in 2019. Thompson said her mother-in-law still lived there and went on to say that the community needed the theater to reopen because there is “nothing” to do in Henderson without it. The theater was closed during the pandemic in 2020.

“My husband ran a movie theater years ago,” and he loved it, said Thompson.

The three-screen cinema shows current films. Lions’ Den Cinema 3 is open Thursday through Saturday.

“Everyone was really happy. Lots of people came in and thanked us for opening, ”said Thompson. People also come in to buy popcorn – without buying a movie ticket too.

The Thompsons made some building improvements before reopening, including a new sign, a new paint job outside and inside, and replacing the 20 to 30 year old seats.

“These are nicer ones that you can sit back and relax a little better,” said April Thompson.

The Thompsons opened One Sheep Coffee and Tea at 906 W. Loop 281 in Longview earlier this year.

The Henderson café will initially have a limited menu and operate as part of the concession booth with opening times corresponding to the theater. Thompson expects the menu to be expanded later, and possibly the opening times.

Longview tea shop opens

A Herbalife tea shop is open at 3665 Estes Parkway, Unit B, Longview.

James Goodrum and his business partners Elijah and Angela Cole opened Crank It Up Nutrition in July.

“We serve charged energy teas,” said Goodrum, which are diabetic-friendly and can be combined with various dietary supplements to promote digestive health or hair growth, for example. The teas can be customized to help with weight loss or to be used before or after a workout. The store also sells children’s drinks, with add-ins that boost immunity or add fiber.

“We’re changing lives and rocking,” Goodrum said after explaining that his girlfriend Darcie Carpenter introduced him to Herbalife and he fell in love with her. The couple opened Small Town Nutrition in Gladewater a few years ago. “We love to see smiles on our customers’ faces.”

Goodrum met Elijah Cole at the Gladewater Store, which led to the Longview business partnership.

The Longview Store next to 501 Automotive is open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
