Choctaw’s Massive Expansion Nearly Ready for Texas Gamblers – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

As you travel north on US Highway 75, just past the Texas-Oklahoma border, a new 21-story tower rises from the lowlands and comes into view well ahead of the rest of the popular Choctaw Casino & Resort.

The 300,000-square-foot Sky Tower is the newest gem of the Choctaw Nation’s flagship estate and represents a $ 600 million expansion that has been pushed ahead despite the debilitating economic impact of the pandemic.

When it opens to the public on August 6, it will offer gamers and excursion guests 1,000 new hotel rooms, six restaurants, 11 bars, and a 3-acre, two-swimming pool designed to appeal to adults with or without kids on tow. The expansion also brings 40 new poker tables and over 3,300 new slot machines, bringing Choctaw’s total number to 136 tables and over 7,200 machines.

And it will create 1,200 jobs for Oklahomans and North Texans.

The tower in Durant, Oklahoma broke ground in 2019, leaving the trunk with no debt despite its price.
