Dallas – A Dallas-based software developer took advantage of an innovative idea in his community that was first explored by a Stanford University professor. Dozens of donated CPAP and BiPAP machines that are no longer in use go to Sanjay Jupudi and his team at Qentelli.
“I live my life in such a way that I do things that fit perfectly,” says Jupdi. “It doesn’t do me or our business any good, but the world is suffering from a pandemic and we can’t close our eyes and say, ‘Oh, torment them.’ “
Jupudi was able to convert the old CPAP into a ventilator for hospitals that do not yet have the right equipment. His mission is to supply 1,000 ventilators to a local hospital in his native India and to date he has supplied more than 100 ventilators.
“I spoke to a friend. He said there were 500 incidents yesterday in a small town of 120,000, ”said Jupdi.
More than 30 million people have recovered from COVID-19 in India, but deaths from delta mutations are still increasing. India’s COVID-19 has killed more than 410,000 people so far.

A team of volunteers from across the country, like Jupdi, has launched a grassroots fundraiser campaign to help curb the phenomenal death toll. In the Dallas area, Jupdi was able to set up four drop-off points for those who wanted to help.

“I recently lost my husband and he had a CPAP machine. I asked my sister if she knew anyone in the church who could use the machine, ”said Pam Polito, who dismantled the obsolete machine. Scream.
Reconfiguring a sleep machine into a ventilator costs Jupudi around $ 50 each. That’s a huge saving compared to the cost of a ventilator, which costs thousands of dollars.
“Each CPAP can be used by at least 10 to 15 people for a few months,” explains Jupudi.
