Fort Worth, Plano among top five places to live in Texas, report says
On a North American moving service list of the top five places to live in Texas, Fort Worth came first, Plano second, and Dallas fifth.
The report also lists top reasons to move to Texas, such as the lack of state income taxes, great school districts, the low cost of living, master plan communities, a strong economy and labor market, and diversity.
Cities in the top five list are those with “the best living conditions, work opportunities and great schools in friendly neighborhoods,” the report said.
According to the report, the cost of living in Fort Worth is 0.2% lower than the national average. Low violent crime rates and affordable housing prices were named as further pluses. The top attractions cited in the report are the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
Plano was known for its easy access to Dallas museums and theaters, as well as the major corporations located there.
Dallas was recognized for its affordability when compared to other US cities.
Other Texas cities rounding up the top five spots are Houston and San Antonio.
