FTI Consulting hires Cecily Gooch as managing director in Dallas

FTI Consulting welcomed Cecily Gooch as Managing Director in Corporate Finance & Restructuring. Gooch brings with him extensive strategic and legal expertise in the US energy and energy sectors.

The Dallas-based expert will advise FTI clients on business transformation, corporate finance, restructuring, governance, regulation and compliance, and investigations.

Gooch has over 20 years of government, law firm and internal practice experience, specializing in leading businesses through business transformations, including M&A, business model change and restructuring. She has advised executives and board members on issues relating to litigation, transactions, compliance, and employment and compensation, among other things. As in-house counsel, Gooch advised on one of the largest Chapter 11 restructurings in US history (TXU Energy / Energy Future Holdings).

Most recently, she was with Vistra Energy for three years, where she was Associate General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Prior to that, Gooch spent two years at Energy Future Holdings (formerly TXU), where she worked as a special restructuring advisor. Prior to that, she spent a decade at TXU, where she joined as Senior Counsel and rose to the role of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Prior to joining the company, Gooch was an Associate in the Regulated Industries and Government Relations division of the law firm Hunton & Williams LLP. She began her career as an enforcement attorney in the litigation department of the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.

Gooch holds a JD and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin.
