In Battle Against Violent Crime Arlington Police Launch ‘Operation Connect’ Initiative – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Today Arlington Police Chief Al Jones detailed the department’s new crime-fighting strategy called Operation Connect.

  1. Reduce violent crime.
  2. Reduce serious injuries and fatal accidents.
  3. Build positive relationships in the neighborhood.

The department has identified seven zones across the city where officers are deployed to arrest violent criminals, remove illegal weapons and drugs from neighborhoods, and deter reckless driving by traffic police.

Officials have conducted thousands of community engagements to ensure residents, business owners, and other stakeholders understand what the department is doing and empower them to work with officials to keep the neighborhood safer.
