Police Search for Suspect in Deadly Shooting at Dallas Apartment – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The Dallas Police are seeking public assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting in Oak Lawn on Monday.

Police said officers were called to a shooting in the Flamingo Apartments at 3901 North Hall Street just before 3 a.m.

The police said, on arrival, the officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound on the sidewalk.

The victim, 30-year-old Justin Wayne Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Friends said they know him as Justin Dixon.

Thompson’s colleague Steven Kinder said he was done with the loss.

“I do not live far from here. I just wanted to see the place where his life was taken, “said Kinder.

Lee Daugherty, a business owner and co-founder of Take Back Oak Lawn group, was out exploring the neighborhood with a friend Saturday morning, just as they have since learned of the murder.

“Monday was almost from sunrise to sunset, give or take a little heat break in the middle of the day that you have to take in Texas. We look forward to doing that again today, ”said Daugherty.

“The police have reason to believe he was in the area at the time and they need help identifying him,” Daugherty said.

The community hopes to bring Oak Lawn back from such crimes.

“We have a great neighborhood here. I think unfortunately we continue to see a lot of crime and violence against people in this neighborhood. Just senseless violence that is not necessary, “said children.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the person depicted above is asked to contact Detective Scott Sayers at 214-671-3647 or scott.sayers@dallascityhall.com.
