Restaurants, Bars Expect Busy Night with NFL Kickoff Game – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
As the Dallas Cowboys open the 2021 NFL season more than 1,100 miles from home as they battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, businesses in North Texas prepare for a busy night.
Some are hosting watch parties for the 2021 NFL kickoff game on NBC 5 Thursday, including The Social House in Arlington.
Server Kai Peterson said they expected a full house.
“It’s going to be a party, I’ll be honest. It’s going to be a big party, ”said Peterson. “We make sure that everything is in stock. We make sure our staff is great. We make sure everyone has a positive attitude, go through everything and make sure the tables are greeted at a decent time. “
Juan Garcia and friends were supposed to be in Tampa for the game, but he said their plans changed due to a car accident along the way.
“We were out on the road. It shouldn’t be, just hope for a win for the Cowboys, ”said Garcia. “I’ll still make the best of it.”
Nearby, New York’s Pizza & Pasta on N. Collins Street is used to the day-to-day rush due to its proximity to the AT&T Stadium. Manager Karla Salazar said Thursday night’s opening game had the potential to do business too.
“You can’t beat these games when they’re home games, but honestly, even when they’re not home, they bring us customers and we love that,” said Salazar. “A lot of people like to go home and watch the game from the comfort of their own home. Then we get a lot of pick-up orders. “
The coverage will begin at 6:00 pm on NBC 5. The kick-off from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa is scheduled for 7:20 pm
