Shortage on Styrofoam Impacts Restaurants in Texas – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
During the many challenges restaurants in Texas faced during the pandemic, there has been a shortage of Styrofoam products that has impacted their operations.
According to our media partners at KLBK in Lubbock, Chris Berry, president of the Lubbock Restaurant Association and managing partner at River Smith’s, said the problem has been around for some time but is getting worse.
He said that one of the big Styrofoam cup players decided not to offer printed, personalized cups.
Jose Herrera, owner of La Chaveña, said when they first opened their restaurant a few months ago they had enough supplies but noticed that it had become more difficult to find those supplies. Herrera said they are fortunate to have friends and family who will make sure they have supplies.
