South Carolina firm is the latest industrial developer to land in Lancaster
A developer from South Carolina is planning his largest project in North Texas to date.
Johnson Development Associates Inc. announced plans for a new industrial project in Arlington last year. Now the Spartan-based commercial real estate company is planning an even bigger development in Lancaster.
Johnson Development has submitted plans to the state to build three industrial buildings east of Interstate 35E on Longhorn Drive.
The nearly 850,000-square-foot industrial park would cost more than $ 41 million and begin construction earlier this year. The project would open in early 2023, according to government documents.
Powers Brown Architecture from Southlake is developing the project.
Lancaster is one of the premier warehouse and distribution markets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. And southern Dallas County is the fastest growing industrial building market in northern Texas, with more than 10 million square feet of built area.
New Player Johnson Development has offices in South Carolina, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, and New York. The company develops industrial, multi-family and self-storage projects and has several industrial projects in the Houston area.
