Video captures woman being kicked off DFW-bound flight while making homophobic remarks
A woman who made homophobic remarks was apparently removed from a flight to DFW International Airport, according to a video posted on YouTube on Monday.
The 46-second video, which consists of two Snapchat videos recorded on the screen, shows a woman, wearing her mask around her chin, following the rest of her tour group through the aisle while arguing with other passengers on the plane. The video is the only one posted from the Viral Dallas 99 YouTube account.
Someone in the group that included several children can be heard several times with a homophobic slur followed by a chorus of other passengers telling the group to get off the plane.
“You think I’m talking to my kids about same-sex marriages,” the woman yelled after the rest of her group was out of the video image. “No, we don’t talk about that. But if we all want to talk about it, we talk about it. “
Her exit was greeted with cheers and claps from other passengers.
“Nobody wants to hear your bigotry,” said a passenger in the background of the video. “Get off the plane.”
The video identifies the woman as a real estate agent in North Texas. The Dallas Morning News left a message on a public cell phone number for the woman, even though she didn’t return the call.
The scene, which has been circulating on Twitter and Reddit since its publication, caused some outrage among viewers.
“It’s not just always Texas, it’s always Dallas,” wrote Twitter user @ leftgrrl75.
The airline on whose plane this happened could not be confirmed. American Airlines, which operates the majority of its flights from DFW, said they need a flight number or a date and destination to determine if it is one of their flights.
Disruption to passengers on airplanes has become a major concern in recent months, and recreational travel has increased after months of pandemic isolation.
Just 10 days prior to the release of this video, a female bodybuilder was banned from an American Airlines flight from DFW to Miami for clothing that the airline found “offensive”.
