BIG3 Week 4 Moves from New Orleans to Dallas – BIG3
BIG3 ANNOUNCES ‘RETURN OF THE BIG3 BALLOUT’ WHILE THE GAMES MOVE TO DALLAS ON JULY 31st
LOS ANGELES – July 23, 2021 – Today, the BIG3 announced that the league will be holding the game location at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas next weekend on Saturday, July 31, for the “return of the BIG3 ballout.” “Has moved. The games will stay in the same slot on CBS and Triller / FITE TV starting at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET. Due to heightened COVID-19 concerns, the league has decided to move game days to two cities in the Midwest on August 5th and 7th, with additional information to follow. With the increase in COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant in Louisiana, staying in the city of New Orleans for 10 days wasn’t in the best interests of the health and safety of the league’s coaches, players, and fans. The league is also improving league-wide protocols as COVID-19 rates rise across the country. The BIG3 returns to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas this weekend. Games begin on Saturday, July 24th at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
“Dallas is where we’ve played for the past three years and the BIG3 Ballout in 2019 was a huge hit. So we’re excited to come back next weekend and the fan base there has always been so supportive of the league, ”said Jeff Kwatinetz, co-founder of BIG3. “We love our New Orleans fans and have played there before, but at this late stage it wasn’t realistic or feasible for our league to bubble our players and coaches for 10 days.”
The league returns to the side of the widely successful 2019 “BIG3 Ballout”. In 2019, the BIG3 played six games in a row and had musical performances by TI and Yella Beezy in front of a sold-out audience.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and the recent surge in cases across the country require sudden adjustments and changes in many business processes. We’re disappointed that we can’t be in front of the great New Orleans fans this summer, but the health and safety of our fans, players, coaches and staff is always our top priority, ”said Chris Hannan, BIG3 CEO.
Known as a pioneering league focused on innovation, BIG3 introduced notable rule changes after the 2019 season, including lowering the minimum age of athletes from 27 to 22 and opening the league to all amateur and professional athletes who want to try it out. The playoffs, consolation and championship will be played on Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
