Dallas developer KDC is in the running to build Wells Fargo’s huge area campus
The leading corporate campus developer in the Dallas area has another big business venture in mind.
KDC has built huge corporate offices for companies like Toyota, State Farm Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
Now the Dallas-based commercial construction company is planning a new office hub for banking giant Wells Fargo, say real estate agents pursuing the deal.
The San Francisco-based banking firm is looking for a huge office campus in Irving.
Irving City Council last week discussed economic incentives for the upcoming project.
So far, Wells Fargo has not commented on his plans for the new campus in the Dallas area. But the company said last week that it has no plans to move its headquarters from San Francisco.
The proposed office project in North Texas would house workers who oversee and support the bank’s nationwide operations, estate agents say.
One of the locations being considered for the project is a 30-acre site in the heart of Las Colinas near the Irving Convention Center.
KDC officials declined to comment on the project.
But KDC has a track record of building offices for major banks.
The developer built JPMorgan Chase’s 1-million-square-foot campus on Plano’s $ 3 billion Legacy West project.
And KDC built the high-rise for Frost Bank’s corporate headquarters in San Antonio.
In 2006, KDC built a 20 acre campus in Irving for Citigroup.
The proposed Wells Fargo office project – which is expected to be 400,000 square feet or more with room for thousands of employees – is one of the largest office developments at the North Texas facility.
