Data Center Systems & Hexatronic Deal Creates Global Data Center Market Contender
DALLAS – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Hexatronic Group AB (Hexatronic) today signed an agreement to acquire US-based Data Center Systems (DCS). DCS provides end-to-end fiber optic connectivity solutions for the US data center market. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in early October.
With 20 years of experience in the US data center market, DCS is well established as a provider of complete fiber optic connectivity system solutions, including infrastructure design solutions, installation and managed services. DCS ‘innovative, consultative approach to connectivity works well with large, purpose-built cabling solutions for data centers. DCS not only offers these companies an overall solution design that meets their individual requirements and priorities, but DCS also adapts this solution to lay the foundation for future technologies and scalability.
DCS customers are mainly telecommunications, financial services, cloud and other technology companies from the US Fortune 500. DCS was founded in 2002 and today has more than 100 employees. The headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Dallas, Texas. The DCS Senior Leadership Team under CEO Kevin Ehringer will remain in place.
“As a recognized leader in the structured cabling and fiber optic industry, Data Center Systems (DCS) continues to see unprecedented growth in demand for our products and services. The impressive combination of Hexatronic and DCS clearly positions us to reach beyond North America and assert ourselves as the world’s leading provider of storage and network connectivity for the world’s largest and most connected enterprise-class data centers, “said Kevin Ehringer, Founder and CEO of DCS.
“We are very pleased to welcome the DCS team to the Hexatronic Group. A highly skilled team dedicated to an advisory approach to ensure the best possible network performance. They also share our view of the value of providing complete system solutions and go a step further by adding multiple services.
“With DCS, Hexatronic is entering the US data center market, which is expected to continue to grow. Constantly increasing data traffic and the trend towards (distributed) edge computing are increasing the need for both larger, hyperscaled data centers and smaller and medium-sized data centers closer to the edge.
“Today, the US is Hexatronic’s largest market and one of three strategic growth markets. With the acquisition of DCS, we are now in a position to offer customers locally assembled and pre-assembled products for the complete FTTH solution from Hexatronic, which shorten lead times and increase flexibility, and also offer DCS ‘expertise in the field of assembly design and consulting services . The production of DCS in the US will complement our current connectivity productions in Sweden, Estonia and the UK, ”said Henrik Larsson Lyon, CEO of the Hexatronic Group.
“We believe that our offers and services have always been kept to an outstanding standard due to our intensive customer orientation (in the service of the Fortune 500). Working with Hexatronic means we will have a lot more new games on the schedule to serve our customers. We have always offered incredibly competitive prices in the markets and customers we serve, recognized quality and value, strict adherence to customer product specifications, and now our customers will benefit from increased sales potential, “said Mike Cox, COO of DCS .
