Kumar, who served as Assistant Counsel in the White House Counsel’s Office during the Obama administration, represents private equity firms as well as public and private companies on a variety of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, carve-outs and investment transactions from industries ranging from health and technology to energy and consumer products. He also advises on general corporate governance issues. During his career, he has represented some of the world’s largest companies and advised the leading private equity firms in the region on some of their key transactions.
Kumar is currently the co-chair of the Texas Minority Counsel Program, a subsidiary of the State Bar of Texas which aims to create opportunities for different lawyers in Texas. He is a recognized leader in issues of diversity, equality and inclusion in the legal profession Texas.
