Man flies 650 miles for first date with woman he met on TikTok
The internet really brings people together.
A man flew more than 650 miles to meet a woman he met on TikTok and now they are in a relationship.
Matt Bannon, 26, of Dallas, Texas, posted a video of himself swimming that went viral and received hundreds of responses from women who said they were interested in him – including an Olympic athlete, according to SWNS. One comment caught his attention.
Taylor Beer, 25, of Omaha, Nebraska, wrote, “Ooo 25, single, saw there was an Olympic athlete on board – I couldn’t beat that.”

It appears she did it because Bannon replied to her comment and the two started exchanging messages, SWNS reported. Bier told the news agency their news was “super easy”.
“Every conversation started a new conversation,” she added.

She soon asked Bannon to FaceTime to make sure he wasn’t faking his account. On that first call, they spoke for two hours, she told SWNS.
“He was a lot nicer than I ever thought,” said Bier. “We both half–jokingly, semi-seriously, mentioned that after our first face-to-face meeting we had kind of hoped that we would feel more like friends. That would make things easier, but obviously it wasn’t. “

However, just two weeks after the conversation, Bannon bought a plane ticket to Omaha so he could meet Bier in person.
“He booked it for a month, so we had a whole month to get to know each other before he came here for the first time,” explained Bier.
Bier posted a short video of their first meeting that also went viral with more than 4.5 million views.

“We take things for a month at a time. We both know that we really like each other and are not interested in meeting others,” said Bier. “Matt jokes this season of the TikTok bachelor’s is over.”
“It really doesn’t feel like we’ve only seen each other three times in person just because we have FaceTime that often,” added Bier. “We’re more gone than we are together, but we consider it those three or four days together that are worth missing in between.”

Bier stated that she usually doesn’t comment on strangers’ videos or follow strangers on TikTok.
“But in this case, I don’t know what got into me, but I did both,” she said. “It was a chance encounter indeed, but as things have gone, I have more confidence than ever in the fact that everything happens for a reason.”
