- World economy Chicago openly uses the city in the Midwest as a Alternative for Dallas companies. The private-public agency published a full-page advertisement on Sunday Dallas Morning News, quoted Voting and reproduction rights as well as COVID-19 guidelines as reasons for businesses to consider moving north. As reporter Alex Macon writes, only time will tell what the guidelines targeted by Chicago’s ad will mean for business in Texas. (D magazine)
- Embrace a sense of Hope for the hospitality industry in the coming year with CultureMap’s master list for Dallas restaurant openings in Fall 2021. Fountain over 50 new branches will soon be hurling hashish (figuratively for the most part) around town, including reopening the power lunch icon Dakota’s Steakhouse. Others notable are fast-casual Hawaiian Bros., which plans to open several locations across the metro area, and a new spot by the renowned chef Sharon Van Meter, called Beckley 1115. - Read how Tito’s vodka helps expand a local community farm. The liquor supplier works with the Dallas-based nonprofit organization Restorative farms to expand the currently one hectare Hatcher Station training farm. The team wants to break the ground on Wednesday. The effort is part of Tito’s Block to block Program that promotes better access to fresh produce for communities. (Dallas observer)
- A man is expected recovery after being hit by a stray bullet in Uptown Dallas. An officer responded to the sound of gunshots McKinney Avenue near Worthington Street early Monday morning. The officer arrested the alleged shooter after a short chase. (FOX 4 Dallas)
