Texas man arrested for string of Middleton burglaries | Crime

A 43-year-old man from Dallas, Texas was arrested for a series of break-ins along University Avenue, Middleton police said.

safety Footage captured in multiple locations identified Menes A. Weightman as a suspect in two break-ins in Middleton and one attempted break-in, according to police.

At around 11:50 p.m. on September 15, Middleton Police responded to an attempted break-in into a store on University Avenue. At 1:30 a.m. the next morning, officials responded to a break-in at Dunn’s car on 6516 University Avenue. Later that morning, a break-in was reported at the Wolf Kubly Ace Hardware Store on 6305 University Avenue, police said.

Weightman’s video was shared with other local law enforcement agencies. Shortly thereafter, the Madison Police Department informed Middleton Police Department that officers arrested Weightman on the morning of September 16 at the 2500 block on McDivitt Road on a Texas arrest warrant and several pending criminal charges in Dane County.

Police said Weightman was found with stolen property from the two Middleton break-ins.
